Amy Metzger

Amy Metzger was appointed Senior Vice-President and Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) in May 2023. Amy has over 25 years’ experience in the legal and financial services industries. Immediately prior to her appointment, Amy was Vice-President and Chief Compliance Officer for the Canadian operations of Canada Life for 6 years.

Amy leads our second line global and Canada Compliance teams, setting the strategic direction for the management of compliance. She leads the design, implementation and maintenance of our compliance programs, ensuring they comply with governing regulations and associated internal policies. As CCO of Great-West Lifeco, Amy works closely with senior leaders to accelerate business and growth strategies while navigating an external environment increasingly shaped by greater regulation worldwide. Continuing to embed compliance in our culture, strategies and business processes are key to ensuring Compliance is enabling and supporting the business.

Prior to joining Compliance, Amy was Senior Counsel in the Canada Life Legal Group for several years. She began her career focused on litigation in private practice. Amy has an undergraduate degree from Queens University and a law degree from Western University.
