Jake P. Lawrence

Mr. Lawrence is Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of Power Corporation and Power Financial, positions he has held since March, 2024. Prior to joining Power Corporation, he held several roles over two plus decades with The Bank of Nova Scotia. Mr. Lawrence served as Chief Executive Officer and Group Head, Global Banking and Markets from 2021 to March, 2024, Co-Group Head, Global Banking and Markets from 2018 to 2020 and Executive Vice-President and Head, Global Banking and Markets U.S. from 2016 to 2018. Prior to these appointments, Mr. Lawrence held progressively senior roles in Finance and Group Treasury at The Bank of Nova Scotia. He is currently a director of Canada Life, Empower, IGM Financial Inc., Investors Group Inc., Mackenzie Inc. and Sagard Holdings Management Inc.  Mr. Lawrence also chairs the Canadian Advisory Board for Right to Play. He holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from Lakehead University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier School of Business and Economics.
