Jeff Poulin

Jeff Poulin, FSA, FCIA, has held the position of CEO, Canada Life Reinsurance since 2017, playing a pivotal role in shaping the company’s global reinsurance strategy and operations.

Jeff began his career at London Life Insurance Company in 1988 as an Actuarial Assistant. In 1992, he relocated with his family to Barbados, where he served as Vice-President, Life & Health, for London Life & Casualty Reinsurance Corporation. Three years later, he joined the U.S. operations of the London Reinsurance Group through London Life Reinsurance Company (LLRC) in Blue Bell, PA. Over the years, he contributed significantly to building a robust portfolio of life, health and annuity reinsurance products. In August 2007, he was appointed President of LLRC.

Jeff has also been active in industry leadership. He served as Chairman of the Forum 500 of the American Council of Life Insurers in 2017 and was a Board member from 2015 to 2018, returning for a second term from 2020 to 2023. In recognition of his contributions, he received the Forum 500 Distinguished Service Award in 2018, an honour bestowed annually for exceptional service to the life insurance industry.

Jeff became a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries in 1992 and a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries in 1993. He earned his degree in Actuarial Sciences from Université Laval in 1988.
