Marcel R. Coutu

Mr. Coutu, Corporate Director, is the former Chairman of Syncrude Canada Ltd., a Canadian oil sands project and is past President and Chief Executive Officer of Canadian Oil Sands Limited, an oil and gas company. He was previously Senior Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of Gulf Canada Resources Limited, and prior to that held various positions in the areas of corporate finance, investment banking, and mining and oil and gas exploration and development. Mr. Coutu is a director of Canada Life and Empower. He is also a director of Power Corporation, IGM Financial, IG Wealth Management, Mackenzie Inc., Brookfield Asset Management Ltd. and the Calgary Stampede Foundation. He has held board positions with Putnam Investments, Brookfield Corporation (formerly Brookfield Asset Management Inc.), Enbridge Inc., Gulf Indonesia Resources Limited, the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede and the board of governors of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers. Mr. Coutu is a former member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta.
